Day 070 Izmir - Izmir Airport

Cycling today was short but very intense.
After I spent most of the day 'working' (repairing flat tire, trying to find a post office and an internet cafe, travel planning,...) I started cycling to the Airport to collect the Harbach brothers tonight and tomorrow morning. The whole ride was along an extremely busy highway full of crazy drivers - yesterday was exciting, but today was insane. Sometimes there even was a sidewalk which I could use. But beware, this is even more dangerous than the road:
How to build the perfect cyclist trap, Turkish style:
Step 1: Remove some paving stones from the sidewalk, leaving 1m wide, 0.5m deep holes
Step 2: Install some fancy, extraordinary, ridiculous or simply surreal decorative elements in the surrounding landscape to distract the cyclist from looking at the pavement (e.g.: Highway passes under an ancient looking aqueduct which is topped by goats, all this in front of a huge Mount-Rushmore-Style stone head).
Step 3: Wait
Ha! They tried their best, but they did not catch me!
I arrived at the Airport and welcomed Harbach Bro No 1. We will spend the night here and wait for Harbach Bro No. 2 to arrive.
Jörg, mache hinne !
