Day 071 Izmir Airport - Gölbent

I am very very tired now - all three of us are. After meeting Harbach Bro No 1, Wolle, yesterday around midnight we spent the short night at the Airport, which worked surprisingly well. We slept at some benches in a relatively quiet area of the Arrivals Hall, it was pretty comfortable, noone disturbed us and security staff was extremely friendly, reminding me several times to collect the knife I was not allowed to bring into the Airport. Nevertheless the night was very short as Harbach Bro No 2, Jörg, arrived very early in the morning.
So after assembling their bikes and an extremely expensive but extremely good coffee we got started - all three very tired but very happy to start cycling together, yay!
The first km we mainly road along industrial complexes around the Airport, but after about 2 hours we had finally reached the sea. There we were greeted by a very scenic road winding high above the water - of course we had to work hard for this high above first.
We had lunch at the beach resort town of Kusadasi before we set of for the hardest climb of the day - everyone tired, in the sun, along a busy highway, puh!
We had planned to ride very long, trying to reach a lake, but eventually gave up after 100km due to cramps and found a camping spot in the maeandrian plain - yep this is the one original river Maeander here.
