Day 098 Göreme - Cayirözü

We got started late and soon met 2 other cyclists: after climbing the first hill Adrien from Switzerland crossed our path again. He will take a bit different route than mine through Turkey but we might meet up again in Iran.
Soon after at a mushroom rock photo stop a french biker on its way to Jerusalem approached us. He was very worried about the situation in Syria which also lays on Michals way.
After leaving Ürgüp we suddenly were out of tourist country again - we had a beautiful valley nearly for ourself. The way through the valley was a long 500m climb, but the nice landscape, the quiet road and yesterdays rest made it relatively easy. When we reached the top we looked down to another amazingly plain plain. We are both wondering how this kind of landscape has come into existence at such an altitude - the plain is at about 1100m, it is huge and flat as a pancake.
We rode some more km across the plain until the sunset made us pitch our tents. In the nearby hills we see some lightning, it looks amazing but hopefully it will stay there during the night.
